Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose Diseases:Analyze tissue samples (biopsies), cells, and fluid samples under a microscope to identify diseases like cancer, infections, and blood disorders.
- Interpret Laboratory Tests:Conduct and interpret a wide range of lab tests, including blood tests, genetic studies, and other specialized analyses to identify health issues.
- Communicate Findings:Provide clear, detailed diagnostic reports and consult with other healthcare providers, such as oncologists, to help them make informed treatment decisions.
- Monitor Disease Progression:Analyze blood and other samples to track how a disease is progressing or responding to treatment.
- Quality Assurance:Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory tests and procedures.
- Research and Development:Engage in clinical research, develop new tests and treatments, and stay current with the latest advancements in pathology and diagnostic technology.
- Supervise Staff:Mentor and oversee laboratory technicians and junior pathologists, providing guidance on technical aspects and best practices.
Work EnvironmentPathologists work in various settings, including: Hospitals (community and university), Independent laboratories, Government clinics, and Private offices. Skills and Qualifications
- Education:A medical degree (MD or equivalent), followed by a residency in pathology and board certification.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: ₹50, ₹60,000.00 per month
Expected hours: No less than 2 per week
