EMT Technician

• CALL:

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for providing pre-hospital emergency medical care, responding to medical emergencies, and transporting patients safely to healthcare facilities. This role involves rapid decision-making, life-saving interventions, and effective communication with medical teams to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
Emergency Response & Patient Care:

• Respond to emergency calls and provide immediate medical assistance.
• Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate emergency care procedures.
• Administer basic life support (BLS), including CPR, airway management, and wound care.
• Stabilize patients with trauma, cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or other medical emergencies.
• Monitor vital signs and provide initial treatment before hospital admission.

Patient Transport & Safety:

• Safely transport patients to hospitals or medical facilities in ambulances.
• Ensure proper handling and movement of critically ill or injured patients.
• Communicate with emergency room staff to provide detailed reports on patient conditions.

Medical Equipment Handling:

• Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment such as defibrillators, oxygen tanks, and stretchers.
• Ensure all ambulance supplies are stocked and in working condition.
• Sanitize and maintain emergency equipment as per hospital and safety regulations.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain accurate records of patient conditions, treatments, and interventions.
• Follow local, state, and hospital protocols for emergency medical services.
• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety guidelines.

Team Collaboration & Training:

• Work alongside paramedics, nurses, and emergency physicians in high-pressure situations.
• Assist in training programs for first responders and emergency teams.
• Participate in emergency drills and continuing education sessions.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or Certification in Emergency Medical Technology.
• Valid EMT certification (as per national/state regulations).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures and first aid.
• Ability to assess and manage critical situations under pressure.
