, we're building sustainable and secure foundational AI models for telecom, alongside next-generation AI-driven wireless technologies that power 6G and beyond.

To support some of our flagship projects, we're establishing a high-performance compute and data infrastructure that can scale from experimentation to full deployment. We're now looking for a seasoned Engineering Lead who can architect, deploy, and manage this backbone- whether in the cloud, on-premises, or through colocation setups.

You'll be responsible for designing Paaru Wireless's AI infrastructure strategy- from evaluating data center options to managing GPU clusters and optimizing hybrid workloads.

You'll work closely with our research teams to ensure the infrastructure aligns with AI training, simulation, and real-time deployment needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design, deployment, and scaling of Paaru Wireless's data center and cloud infrastructure to support advanced AI workloads.
  • Evaluate, plan, and establish colocation facilities or in-house data center setups in South India (Bengaluru, Hyderabad, or Chennai).
  • Architect and maintain hybrid cloud environments (on-premise + AWS/Azure/GCP) optimized for compute-intensive training and simulation workloads.
  • Manage and monitor GPU clusters, networking systems, and power/cooling operations, ensuring optimal uptime and performance.
  • Drive the adoption of sustainability-focused initiatives to optimize power consumption and cooling performance.
  • Implement robust infrastructure security, redundancy, and failover mechanisms to ensure reliability and resilience.
  • Collaborate with our researchers to design scalable model training pipelines and efficient data management systems.
  • Oversee and mentor a lean infra/DevOps team while coordinating with external vendors.
  • Optimize cost, performance, and scalability trade-offs across both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for infrastructure evolution as we grow.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.
  • 6–15 years of experience in data center operations, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps leadership.
  • Proven track record of designing and managing high-performance compute environments (GPU clusters, HPC setups, or AI training infrastructure).
  • Strong background in Linux systems, networking, and virtualization/containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS EC2/S3/EKS, Azure VM, GCP Compute).
  • Hands-on knowledge of power/cooling design, network topology, and hardware scaling.

Bonus Skills:

  • Exposure to AI/ML pipelines, large-scale model training, or telecom simulation workloads.
  • Experience setting up medium scale data centers (~1 MW, 100+ racks)
  • Experience setting up edge or micro data centers.
  • Strong vendor management and cost optimization experience.
  • Passion for building AI + wireless infrastructure from the ground up.
