Job Description
As a Sr. Database Architect / Principal Database Architect / Data Migration Lead, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing and overseeing the implementation of complex software solutions that enhance the efficiency and performance of our products and applications that includes data migration and system integration services

Role & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

System Design: Lead the design and architecture of software systems that meet the industry requirements, utilizing Java, Python, SQL, Spring Boot, Angular, JavaScript, GraphQL and Oracle/PostgreSQL.

Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices, scalability, and reliability in software solutions. Analyse and interpret all complex data on all target systems and analyse and provide resolutions to all data issues and coordinate with data analyst to validate all requirements, perform interviews with all users and developers

Technology Evaluation: Stay updated with emerging technologies and evaluate their suitability for applications. Cleanse data as necessary to remove the potential for issues with data migration

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Development: Develop data warehouse models, prepare reports for meta data integration into systems, draft ETL scripts and prepare required reports for all end users. Develop and perform tests on ETL codes for system data, analyse data and design data mapping techniques for data models in systems. Develop best practice standards and protocols for data migration. Identify and fix any outstanding faults or issues with migrated data

Code Review: Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality, consistency, and adherence to architectural standards. Develop best practice standards and protocols for data migration. Identify and fix any outstanding faults or issues with migrated data

Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal system performance and responsiveness.

Implementation: Implement ETL procedures for new data entities, maintain effective awareness of production activities according to required standards and provide support to existing products, applications and services

Security: Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Documentation: Create and maintain detailed architectural and strategy documentation for reference by development teams. Document the processes undertaken, any issues, and fixes that have been deployed

Testing: Perform tests, validate data flows, prepare ETL processes according to business requirements and incorporate business requirements into design specifications

Mentoring: Mentor and coach software development teams on architectural principles and best practices.

Monitoring: Monitor all business requirements, validate designs, schedule ETL processes and prepare documents with data flow diagrams

Technical Qualifications
Skillsets:

•    Proven hands-on experience as Database Architect in a software development role and involved in coding/development activities

•    Expert in SQL Development - Writing Procedures by using PL/SQL, MySQL

•    Exposure or Good Knowledge in Python Script development 

•    ETL tool framework / development and integration knowledge 

•    Experience working in a lead/manager role managing a team

•    Strong expertise in Java, Python, SQL, Spring Boot, Angular, JavaScript, GraphQL and PostgreSQL/Oracle

•    Handled performance appraisal of the team in a lead/manager role

•    Knowledge of airline industry-specific technologies and protocols is a plus.

•    Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically

•    Effective communication and leadership skills

•    Experience working using agile development methodologies
