Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial, residential, or industrial buildings. This role involves preparing design layouts, performing load calculations, selecting appropriate HVAC systems, and ensuring all designs comply with relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop HVAC system designs using AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
  • Select appropriate HVAC equipment and components based on system requirements.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate designs with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines.
  • Ensure HVAC designs comply with local building codes, ASHRAE standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and monitor installation progress.
  • Provide technical support during the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in HVAC system design (depending on level of role).
  • Proficiency in HVAC design tools and software (AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient HVAC systems.
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling).
  • Familiarity with project management tools.
  • LEED accreditation is a plus.
