Job Title: Senior KDB Developer / Lead ( Big 4 ) US Client

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior KDB Developer / Lead with a minimum of 10 years of IT experience and extensive expertise in kdb+/q development. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing high-performance time-series data solutions for our US client (Deloitte). This role requires strong leadership, client engagement skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced financial services environment with complex real-time data needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of real-time and historical data applications using kdb+/q.
  • Architect scalable time-series database solutions and ensure low-latency performance.
  • Engage directly with business stakeholders (traders, quants, risk managers, client teams) to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines integrating kdb+ with trading, risk, and analytics platforms.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and performance tuning.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause analysis for mission-critical systems.
  • Collaborate with global teams to deliver enterprise-grade, high-availability systems.
  • Ensure compliance with client security, data governance, and regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of IT experience with at least 6+ years in kdb+/q development.
  • Proven expertise in time-series database design, optimization, and query performance.
  • Strong understanding of financial services domain (capital markets, trading systems, risk management).
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and scripting (Python, Shell, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience in system integration (APIs, data feeds, messaging systems like Kafka/Solace).
  • Experience working with large-scale, low-latency, high-availability systems.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Experience working with Big 4 clients / global consulting firms (advantageous).
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
