We are seeking a skilled PL/SQL Developer with Unix Shell Scripting experience to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining Oracle PL/SQL code, database procedures, and scripts. Additionally, the candidate should have strong expertise in Unix/Linux environments for creating, debugging, and automating shell scripts that integrate with database processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL stored procedures, triggers, functions, and packages.
  • Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
  • Create and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation, scheduling, and integration of backend processes.
  • Debug and optimize PL/SQL code for performance improvements.
  • Work on data migration, ETL jobs, and batch processing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DBAs, business analysts, application developers) to deliver solutions.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to database jobs and Unix scripts.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in database design, coding, and performance tuning.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL programming (procedures, functions, triggers, packages, cursors).
  • Solid understanding of relational database concepts and SQL query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience in Unix/Linux shell scripting (bash/ksh/sh).
  • Knowledge of job scheduling tools (Cron, Control-M, Autosys, or equivalent).
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot database and scripting issues.
  • Good understanding of data warehousing/ETL concepts (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with version control tools (Git, SVN).
