Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with expertise in the import/export of commodities such as lead, copper, and aluminium. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing financial operations related to international trade, including invoicing, GST compliance, and LC (Letter of Credit) discounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoicing & Documentation: Manage and process invoices related to imports and exports of lead, copper, and aluminium. Ensure all transactions comply with international trade laws and tax regulations.
  • GST Compliance: Ensure proper GST filing and reporting for international shipments, including the preparation of GST returns and reconciliations.
  • Letter of Credit (LC) Discounting: Oversee the process of LC discounting, including liaising with financial institutions to ensure timely payment and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports related to imports and exports, including profitability analysis, cost structures, and trade receivables/payables.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with both domestic and international tax regulations, including duties, VAT, and customs clearance.
  • Trade Finance Management: Assist with trade finance processes, including securing trade financing, managing international payments, and coordinating with banks for letters of credit and other financing instruments.
  • Auditing & Reconciliation: Work closely with auditors during internal and external audits to ensure accurate financial records. Reconcile discrepancies related to foreign currency transactions, taxes, and shipments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in import/export accounting for commodities like lead, copper, or aluminium.
  • Knowledge of International Trade: Strong understanding of the complexities of international trade, including GST, customs, import/export documentation, and LC operations.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software: Familiarity with accounting software like Tally, QuickBooks, or SAP, and ability to adapt to new platforms as required.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams, external partners, financial institutions, and government agencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CA, or equivalent certifications are a plus).
  • Previous experience with commodity trading is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with cross-border tax laws, customs duties, and international finance regulations.

Compensation:

Salary: ₹50,000 – ₹70,000 per month, depending
