Job Summary:
The Finance Controller will be a highly experienced and strategic leader responsible for overseeing all financial operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities within our organization, with a strong emphasis on GCC environment and regulatory frameworks. This role requires a seasoned professional with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of financial management, internal controls, and strategic financial planning in a complex, multi-entity environment. The Controller will ensure the integrity of financial data, optimize financial performance, and provide critical insights to support executive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Direct and oversee the preparation of all financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards and local GCC regulations.
- Lead the consolidation of financial results for various entities as required.
- Provide in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and performance metrics, to identify opportunities and risks.
- Present financial results and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Understand the incentives for the industry and set up process to take advantage of.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Planning:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and develop robust financial forecasts.
- Partner with department heads to establish financial targets and monitor performance against budgets.
- Contribute to strategic financial planning initiatives, evaluating potential investments, divestitures, and growth opportunities within the GCC context.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Establish, maintain, and enforce a comprehensive system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the reliability of financial information, adhering to both international best practices and specific GCC regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and international financial regulations, tax laws (e.g., VAT in GCC), and corporate policies.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, serving as the primary liaison.
Cash Flow Management:
- Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow planning, management, and optimization across the organization, considering currency fluctuations and banking practices prevalent in the GCC.
- Manage banking relationships and ensure efficient liquidity management.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Qualifications & experience:
- Education:
Chartered Accountant with Bachelor's degree - Minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership/Controller position.
- Mandatory extensive experience working within a GCC environment, demonstrating a deep understanding of its unique financial, tax, and regulatory landscape.
- Proven track record of managing significant financial operations and teams.
Technical Skills:
- Expert-level proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Advanced Excel skills are essential for financial modeling and analysis.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and/or US GAAP.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
