Team Summary

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, technology, data analytics, marketing, operations, and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results.

What a Director, Tech Consulting does primarily:

• Lead the scaling of the technology vertical by driving business development initiatives, architecting solutions to address complex business challenges, overseeing the delivery of large-scale technology advisory and transformation programs & realization of client objectives, assuming responsibility for revenue targets within INSA.

• Build, nurture, and grow trusted advisory relationships with C-level executives (CxOs, CDOs, CIOs) at client organizations, influencing technology strategy, Tech discussions, innovative solutions and successfully converting their ask and problem statements into winning deals.

• Grow the vertical by offering expertise on topics like building a mobile stack, enabling payment interfaces, migrating banking stack to a cloud and other topics that are complex in scale and scope, intellectually demanding, and deadline driven.

• Contribute to key Practice building initiatives – top-line growth, new Capability / IP generation, program management, training, mentorship, and team initiatives.
• Demonstrate the ability to conceptualize, analyze, and design blueprints for technology transformations, complex Tech solutions, and effectively present and communicate solutions to senior stakeholders in a compelling and influential manner.
• You will support other consultants and in-market client deployed teams, taking charge of specific aspects of the project. You will offer solutions for a specific client problem or challenge.
• Develop and leverage partnerships with internal product SMEs to deliver holistic support spanning from scope definition to implementation
• Stay abreast of evolving payment technologies, innovations, and strategic partners that may accelerate speed-to-market or enhance our existing products and solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a top tier institution with 15+ years of work experience with specialization in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
• Working experience in credit card / payments domain is a key requirement.
• Experience in technology consulting, digital transformation, Evaluating and blueprinting enterprise & Tech architecture solutions, with a track record of leading large-scale engagements and delivering business impact.
• Have end-to-end technical expertise in payment systems integration, data management, security infrastructure ensuring efficiency, and robust payment solutions.
• Demonstrated career progression at a consulting firm or in technology role.
• Have experience in working with senior tech executives e.g., CTOs in a bank.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to develop well-structured communications and deliver presentations to audiences.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to have structured thinking and build strong arguments.
• Self-starter individual with a keen appetite for building the business.
• Collaborative team player with ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive, someone who 'rolls up the sleeves' and gets things done.

What will also help:

• Deep Understanding of the web technology stack & Supporting Technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, RESTful APIs, etc.) and service deployment.
• Basic knowledge of cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud).
• Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
• Hold comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard security protocols such as Open ID Connect, OAuth2, SAML, JWT JOSE, JWKS, emphasizing their application in secure and reliable payment processing.
• Solid experience in enterprise application integration including APIs, Web Services (SOAP/RESTful), Micro Services, Containerization (Open Shift Containers, Kubernetes etc.)

Your Future Role

At Tech Practice, you will learn how to design, build, scale, and transform digital businesses and you will learn about building new digital capabilities.

This role covers technological areas, such as analysis and improvement of current payments and banking infrastructure stack, assessment of the capabilities for available applications and infrastructure (integrations and scalability), review and improvement of internal tech processes.

• Work with PMO leads, Solution Architects, Systems Analysts, Developers on client side to produce high quality deliverables.
• Lead requirement analysis, design functional specifications, and get agreement from various stakeholders on the solution and design while complying with existing standards.
• Act as a SME for payments, interact, solicit requirements, and advise senior level clients.
• Work in software development methodologies, e.g., Agile and Waterfall projects.

Examples of our projects are

• Performing multiple due diligence for mobile wallet companies, acquirers, and payment schemes across operational, technical, and commercial dimensions.
• Program Managing a large-scale managed services engagement.
• Driving transformation for a large incumbent bank by moving payment processor and banking stack to a cloud.
