Position: Data Scientist (IOT)

Exp: 3-8 Years

Summary:

Highly skilled Data Scientist with a strong background in Electrical Engineering to analyze electrical telemetry data, derive power flow equations for data center circuits based on connected assets, and develop monitoring logic to identify and predict anomalies within the electrical infrastructure of data centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain statistical and machine learning models to analyze real-time telemetry data from critical electrical systems, including Electrical Infrastructure Systems, Mission Critical Systems, Electrical Maintenance, Electrical Safety and Generators.
  • Leverage expertise in electrical systems to understand equipment behavior, identify anomalies, and contribute to root cause analysis, including understanding key steps in electrical maintenance.
  • Monitor and interpret model outputs to proactively identify and investigate early indicators of equipment degradation, performance deviations, and potential failures.
  • Derive current, voltage, power, step-up/down and ther electrical equations for the deployed systems based on the assets they are connected with (e.g., Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units) and apply statistical process control to identify power failures within the systems.
  • Develop and implement monitoring logic and algorithms to proactively detect and alert on electrical anomalies.
  • Collaborate closely with data center operations and engineering teams to validate detected anomalies, conduct comprehensive root cause analysis, and recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Develop and manage insightful dashboards and reports to visualize key metrics and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Continuously refine and enhance anomaly detection algorithms and monitoring logic based on new data, feedback from field operations, and evolving industry best practices.
  • Document all findings, analysis methodologies, and resolution steps to contribute to a comprehensive knowledge base for the program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field, with demonstrated experience in Data Science, Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
  • In-depth knowledge of data center electrical infrastructure, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units, and CRAC units.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work both independently and as a vital member of a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for a non-technical audience.
  • Proven experience in electrical power systems and a strong understanding of industrial power architecture.
  • Critical experience with telemetry data, various sensor types, and their outputs (e.g., current, voltage, resistance, power) for effective interpretation of raw data feeding anomaly detection models.
  • Ability to utilize analytical findings to diagnose potential mechanical issues, such as pump failures, leaks, or valve malfunctions. Experience with root cause analysis is a strong plus.
