We're looking for a Backend Engineer with 5+ years of backend experience to take ownership of critical services, influence architectural decisions, and deliver high-impact technical solutions. You'll work across a modern stackincluding Scala, Spring Boot, Rust, and AWSand partner closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to bring scalable systems to life.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Ownership: Lead backend development in Scala, Spring Boot, and Rust, ensuring high standards in code quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Architecture & Strategy: Shape the future of our platform by actively contributing to system design and long-term technical strategy.
  • Roadmapping & Planning: Collaborate with product managers to translate business needs into clear, executable technical roadmaps.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive system delivery.
  • Release Orchestration: Oversee deployment strategies, enabling smooth and low-risk feature rollouts across environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience using Scala/Play, Spring Boot, Rust, or similar frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, REST API design, and system-level architecture.
  • Proficient in cloud infrastructure, especially AWS, and containerization using Docker.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, PostgreSQL, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and deliver results on time.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical decisions across engineering and product teams.
  • Proven track record of owning the full lifecycle of features from ideation to production.
