Position Overview

The Special Educator will be responsible for identifying, planning, and implementing effective strategies to support students with special educational needs (SEN) as per CBSE guidelines. The role involves creating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), working closely with teachers, parents, and counselors, and ensuring inclusive practices are followed in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or special needs through screening and assessments.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Provide remedial teaching, one-on-one support, or small group interventions.
  • Collaborate with subject teachers to adapt curriculum, teaching methods, and assessments for inclusive learning.
  • Maintain documentation, progress reports, and records as per CBSE norms.
  • Conduct workshops and sensitization sessions for teachers and parents on inclusive education.
  • Coordinate with school counselors, psychologists, and external experts for holistic support.
  • Guide parents on strategies to support learning at home.
  • Ensure compliance with CBSE guidelines for children with special needs and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education (B.Ed – Special Education) or Diploma in Special Education, recognized by RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India).
  • Registration with RCI (mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education practices and CBSE policies for Children With Special Needs (CWSN).
  • Experience in handling diverse learning needs such as LD (Learning Disabilities), ADHD, Autism, Speech & Language delays, etc.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and record-keeping skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with children and parents.

Preferred Experience

  • 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE/ICSE/IB school environment.
  • Conducting teacher training or parent workshops on inclusive education.

Work Conditions

  • Full-time position, based at the school campus.
  • Active involvement in classroom observation, remedial sessions, and co-curricular support.
