Role & responsibilities

Strategic and planning

  • Define Clear Project Scope and Requirements
  • Develop Modular and Scalable Code
  • Implement Robust Testing and Validation Procedures
  • To build detail timing diagram for positive and Negative test cases

Functional

  • Design, develop, and implement PLC software for industrial automation systems.
  • Develop structured and maintainable PLC code in compliance with international coding standards

  • Perform programming and troubleshooting using:

  • Structured Text (ST)

  • Ladder Logic (LD)

  • Commission and debug PLC programs on machines such as case packers, labelling machines, and other packaging line equipment.

  • Interface with HMI/SCADA systems for operator controls and diagnostics.
  • Generate and maintain detailed code documentation, functional specifications, and logic flow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Technical Expertise Required:

  • Proficient in programming PLCs from major manufacturers including:

  • Mitsubishi Electric (GX Works2/3, iQ Platform)

  • Allen-Bradley (RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, CompactLogix/ControlLogix)

  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as:

  • Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profinet, CC-Link

  • Experience with motion control, safety PLCs, and integration of vision systems is a plus.

  • Knowledge of servo systems, VFDs, sensors, and actuators as related to packaging machinery automation.

Documentation & Standards:

  • Create and maintain project documentation including:

  • Functional Design Specifications (FDS)

  • Input/Output (I/O) lists
  • PLC and HMI code documentation

  • Knowledge and understanding of Wiring diagrams using EPLAN Electric P8

  • Ensure compliance with GAMP5, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, or other applicable regulatory standards (for food/pharma domains, if applicable).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for site commissioning and support
