An injection molding technician sets up, operates, and maintains plastic injection molding machines to produce parts that meet quality standards. Key duties include installing molds, troubleshooting production issues, performing quality inspections, and making process adjustments to optimize performance and cycle times. This role requires specialized knowledge of plastics, equipment, and safety procedures. Responsibilities

• Machine setup and operation: Install molds, set up and adjust machine parameters for optimal production, and monitor the process to ensure consistent part quality.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to materials, equipment, or process parameters to minimize downtime and prevent defects.
• Quality control: Inspect molded parts to ensure they meet customer specifications and stop production to correct any quality problems.
• Maintenance: Perform daily checks on machines, report any irregularities, and support maintenance teams with minor repairs and upkeep.
• Collaboration: Work with engineering and production teams to improve mold design, process efficiency, and productivity.
• Safety and housekeeping: Adhere to all safety rules, use required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized workstation.

Skills and qualifications

• Technical skills: Experience with injection molding machines, knowledge of different raw materials, and the ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and solve complex problems.
• Mechanical aptitude: Ability to use hand tools and perform basic maintenance.
• Attention to detail: Meticulous in monitoring processes and inspecting parts for defects.
• Physical ability: May require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Education and experience: A high school diploma is often required, with experience in a manufacturing or production environment being highly beneficial.
