Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable real-time / streaming ETL pipelines.
  • Manage and optimize data workflows & pipelines using tools such as Pentaho PDI, AWS S3, AWS Redshift.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integration and quality across the organization.
  • Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
  • Develop automation solutions using Python to streamline data processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain data models, ensuring data consistency and accuracy across various systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integration, pipeline failures, and system performance.
  • Monitor, optimize, and improve data pipeline performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Work with cloud technologies, especially AWS, to store and process data at scale.
  • Ensure data security and compliance standards are adhered to in all data processes.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on and proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Experience with Streaming ETL (e.g., Apache Flink, Kafka, Spark, etc).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
  • In-depth experience with AWS Redshift or other cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS S3, EC2).
  • Proficiency in Python for building data pipelines and automation.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL design patterns.
  • Familiarity with data processing frameworks like Apache Kafka or Apache NiFi is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with other AWS services (e.g. Redshift Spectrum, Apache Flink, NiFi).
