Company Description :
Global steel and mining major ArcelorMittal, a $26 billion Conglomerate, has commenced the supply of 250MW round-the-clock clean energy to its Indian joint venture, AMNS India, through a newly commissioned
1GW Hybrid Renewable Energy Project in Andhra Pradesh.
The facility meets over 20% of AM/NS India's energy demand at its Hazira steel plant in Gujarat, thus supporting continuous steel production. The $700 million initiative —developed, constructed and commissioned by
ArcelorMittal Green Energy
— a wholly owned subsidiary of ArcelorMittal—marks the company's largest foray into renewable power.
Spanning 2,400 acres for solar and 700 acres for wind, the site includes approximately 1.5 million solar panels and 91 wind turbines. Now fully operational at its intended capacity, the project features roughly 1.5 million solar panels and 91 wind turbines, collectively generating 2.5 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity each year, enough to supply power to nearly 10 million Indian households.
