Role Purpose
This is a critical leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of the entire quality function. You will act as the primary driver of quality culture across the plant, ensuring absolute customer satisfaction, minimal defects, and complete compliance with global automotive and industrial standards. You will own the plant's quality performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Role & responsibilities :
Key Responsibilities (Quality Leadership & Excellence)
- Defect Minimization Driver: Act as the direct driver to minimize rework and eliminate rejection rates by enforcing strict process control and quality standards.
- Problem Solving Ownership: Lead and manage the formal 8D analysis process for all internal, supplier, and customer-related quality issues, ensuring implementation of permanent solutions.
- Quality Culture Implementation: Design and implement a robust Quality Culture across all departments, promoting accountability, ownership, and a zero-defect mindset.
- Systems & Compliance: Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) (ISO/IATF), leading all preparations and representation for client audits, third-party inspections, and certifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Own and drive continual improvement activities for the QA function and the overall plant, using data to reduce variability and enhance process capability.
- MIS Ownership: Take complete ownership of the Management Information System (MIS) for the plant, providing timely, accurate quality performance dashboards, analysis, and reports to the management.
- Team Development & Guidance: Train, guide, and lead the Quality team for skill development and process expertise, mentoring them to become proactive quality partners.
- APQP & Lifecycle Management: Support and manage all quality assurance activities for new product launches, including APQP and PPAP documentation and execution.
- External Representation: Participate in various industry competitions and forums to represent the organization, demonstrating our commitment to world-class manufacturing standards.
Candidate Profile (Experience & Education)
- Education: BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: 812 years in Quality Assurance, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity within an IATF-certified automotive supplier.
Skills:
In-depth, proven knowledge of 8D methodology, QA core tools (FMEA, SPC, MSA), and robust systems implementation (IATF Excellent customer handling skills and proven auditing experience.
- Strong analytical skills for MIS preparation and data-driven decision-making.
