We are currently hiring for a Senior Software Engineer – Backend Developer for our esteemed client Embitel Technologies. This role is ideal for professionals who are experienced in backend development using Java (Spring Boot) or .NET Core, and who are also familiar with DevOps practices, cloud technologies (especially Microsoft Azure), and modern development workflows including GitHub Actions.

This is a high-impact, hands-on technical role where you'll contribute to building scalable, high-performance services. You will be working in a distributed, cross-functional team following Agile/Scrum methodologies, and will be expected to actively engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Development:
  Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services using either Java (Spring Boot) or .NET Core. You'll contribute to new feature development as well as enhancements and bug fixes for existing applications.

• DevOps & CI/CD:
  Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions. Ensure seamless integration, delivery, and deployment of applications.

• Production Support:
  Take part in OnCall rotations, handling deployments, and supporting live production systems. You'll monitor performance, resolve issues, and ensure uptime and reliability.

• Agile Team Collaboration:
  Work closely with Product Owners, Frontend Developers, QA Engineers, and other backend developers to deliver high-quality software solutions. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Clean Coding & Documentation:
  Write clean, maintainable, and testable code. Create proper documentation for system design, workflows, and API specifications.

• Continuous Improvement:
  Contribute to improving development processes, testing strategies, and deployment practices. Advocate for best practices in software engineering and DevOps.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Backend Expertise:
  Minimum of 7 years of experience in backend development using Java (Spring Boot) or .NET Core frameworks.

• DevOps Tools:
  Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions for setting up and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Cloud Services:
  Proficiency in working with Azure Cloud services—including storage, compute, networking, and monitoring.

• Containerization & Microservices:
  Familiarity with Docker for containerization and basic knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, service orchestration, and API management.

• RESTful APIs & Distributed Systems:
  Deep understanding of RESTful web services, distributed systems design principles, and experience in building scalable APIs.

• DevOps Mindset:
  Comfortable working in a DevOps culture where the same team builds, deploys, monitors, and supports software.

• Communication:
  Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience.

• Team Collaboration:
  Proven experience working in international, cross-functional teams, including the ability to work independently in remote or hybrid setups.

• OnCall Readiness:
  Willingness to take OnCall responsibilities during deployment windows or in the event of critical incidents.

• Language:
  Fluent English skills are mandatory, as the role involves frequent communication with international stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

• Frontend Exposure:
  Basic understanding or hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or

• Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC):
  Knowledge of tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for managing infrastructure in Azure.

• Monitoring & Observability:
  Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or App Insights for performance tracking and alerting.

• Agile & Scrum Experience:
  Prior experience working in Agile environments, with a solid understanding of Scrum ceremonies, roles, and best practices.

• Automotive Domain Knowledge:
  Previous experience or domain expertise in Automotive software development—especially in areas like connected vehicle services, OEM integration, or vehicle telematics—will be a significant advantage.
