Position Overview:

As the Engineering Project Manager (EPM)for Topside (FPSO), You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the design, development, and execution of the topside modules for FPSO projects within schedule and budget. You will ensure that all engineering activities are aligned with project requirements, safety standards, and cost-effective practices. Your role will involve leading a team of engineers and collaborating with cross-functional departments to deliver high-quality results on time.

Furthermore, the Topside EPM will work in close cooperation with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure that engineering work and deliverables are compliant with all project requirements, classification rules, design codes and industry standards as well as any relevant regulatory aspect. The Topside EPM will monitor, report and control the project progress and ensure all internal and external interfaces are properly managed.

The ideal candidate of the position will have a strong background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry and have prior experience as a Topside EPM (or EPM for Offshore facilities) and with prior experience in detailed engineering for offshore projects.

This role may require frequent travel to the US, Europe, and Asia.

The strategic focus will also include providing support to Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based in USA/Netherland/Singapore/India and elsewhere as necessary including Conceptual, pre-FEED and FEED for projects in the offshore area in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the topside engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management. Acts as single point of contact with Client for all technical aspects.
  • Coordinate and oversee the engineering design, integration, and execution of FPSO topside modules.
  • Collaborate with project management, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery of all engineering activities.
  • Ensure all design and engineering work complies with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Interface with clients, stakeholders, and external contractors to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Prepare and review engineering documentation (Including Master Document Register), specifications, reports, and design calculations.
  • Manage resources, budgets, and schedules for engineering tasks and projects.
  • Continuously identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and quality.
  • In EPCI Phase, Identify any changes in scope from internal or external sources, raise ECNs and maintain an ECN log for the project.
  • Support the project-related procurement processes by organizing for the technical review of vendor bids and ensure timely review and comment of vendor documentation, after PO placement.
  • Organize design reviews and implement review results.
  • Manage and resolve site design queries.
  • Wherever required advise/implement latest and cost-effective solutions in consultation with PMT.
  • Implement the risk and opportunity management process across the project.
  • Gather Lesson learnt and provide feedback to all relevant stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Marine, offshore Technology, or related field).
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in offshore oil and gas engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial / leading role.
  • Minimum 2 FPSO / FLNG / Offshore project EPCI Engineering Manager Experience
  • Versed with international codes and standards and class society rules.
  • Versed with Engineering Platform (Document Management System, Engineering Data Integration System, AVEVA E3D) and Workflow
  • Profound understanding with offshore industry, multi-disciplinary design practices, technologies as well as FPSO design concepts, EPC contracting practices, etc.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Yard experience and PMP certification shall be added advantage
  • Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills
