Purpose of the role

This is an exciting time to work in General Mills' Supply Chain & ITQ Organization We are accelerating Digital Transformation of our MAKE capabilities to provide a competitive advantage to our business. Technology at General Mills accelerates process transformation and business growth around the globe. To achieve business success, Digital and Technology uses leading edge technology, innovative thinking, and agile processes. One of General Mills' key technology priorities is driving business action through connected data.

This individual will help drive data strategy and processes, ensure the solutions are sustainable, and follow General Mills' Engineering standards. The role requires the ability to manage multiple initiatives and work well with various internal and external partners to bring capabilities to life across a variety of General Mills business teams. This role is estimated to be 80% development/technical work and 20% analyst work.

Key Accountabilities

• Act as a key Manufacturing Technology, Data and Analytics technical leader with broad technical skills
• Collaborate to develop the technology and capability roadmap, solutions towards manufacturing problem solving
• Participate in the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of emerging tools and process in the Manufacturing Analytics space
• Participate in the design and implementation of sustainable tools & processes to support the Manufacturing and General Mills data ecosystem
• Support and develop communication & education plans for technical teams on technologies and processes in our ecosystem.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree; 3+ years of hands-on experience building data analytics/engineering solutions
• 3+ years of hands-on programming experience with one or more of Python, C#, Java, etc.
• 3+ years of experience working with database systems and strong in SQL Experience developing complex SQLs for ad-hoc reporting
• Experience with modern Cloud platforms
• Experience with Kafka, MQTT, NATS or other message/streaming based technologies
• Having used general software engineering tools and processes like git, Jenkins, Intellij/Eclipse, Bash terminal, Jira/progress tracking, Agile
• ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data
• Effective verbal and written communication and influencing skills
• Effective analytical and technical skills
• Experience in Manufacturing or working with manufacturing in past roles
• Experience in supply chain

Preferred Qualifications

• Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering degree preferred
• Strong Python coding skills
• Experience in developing procedures and scripts for data migration
• Experience in manufacturing or supporting manufacturing data use cases in the past
• Experience with agile techniques or methods
