Role Objective

To lead the Learning and Development (L&D) function within the Global Capability Center (GCC), envisioning and shaping comprehensive learning frameworks that align with organizational goals. The role aims to enhance the capabilities of employees across the HR function by crafting and overseeing learning programs that align with business objectives, compliance mandates, and strategic projects to support the growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Leadership: Lead the L&D strategy by defining standards and establishing a culture of continuous learning and development across the organization

Collaborate closely with HR heads and business leaders to envisage and steer learning programs that support strategic projects and compliance imperatives

- Training Needs Analysis: Conduct comprehensive training needs assessment based on inputs from Performance Management System (PMS), annual business plans, and strategic project requirements. Capture organization-wide learning needs, including business transformation and compliance requirements.

- Training Calendar Development: Oversee the creation and execution of the annual training calendar, ensuring alignment with business priorities and strategic needs.

Guide the nomination and selection process for both internal and external training facilitators. Strategically prioritize learning initiatives, and coordinate the release of invitations for training nominations.

- External Trainer Coordination: Engage and steer external partners by reviewing content, envisioning training approaches, and ensuring content customization in line with business requirements. Oversee the approval and process commercials through the relevant organizational tools like NIMBLE.

- Program Management: Oversee and ensure the smooth enrollment of participants in learning initiatives while managing communications and mandatory training assignments. Define standards for external learning programs, including MBA and certification nominations, ensuring compliance and seamless approval processes.

- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all necessary compliance is maintained through regular updates on training programs. Administer assessments for trainee confirmations post-probation. Create and maintain training MIS, generating reports for management and audit purposes.

- Feedback and Evaluation: Solicit feedback and measure program effectiveness using both quantitative and qualitative data. Continuously improve training content based on feedback and assessment results.

- Empowerment and Mentorship: Mentor and empower L&D team members, providing guidance to drive their professional growth and engagement. Envision and apply innovative learning solutions to address emerging business challenges and industry trends.

Experience

  • 9+ years of relevant experience in Learning and Development within the steel, power, or manufacturing sectors
  • Experience in managing training programs in a GCC or international context is highly advantageous
  • Proven track record of collaborating with senior leadership to drive strategic learning initiatives

Qualification

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Advanced degree in Learning and Development or Organizational Psychology is an advantage

Certifications

  • Certification in Learning and Development or Human Resource Management (preferred)
