Role & responsibilities

The Site Engineer is responsible for executing and overseeing construction work on-site according to the Project Manager's instructions and project plans. This role involves managing day-to-day activities, coordinating with workers and subcontractors, and ensuring that construction progresses according to schedule, budget, and quality standards.

  1. *Execution of Work:*

- Implement construction plans as directed by the Project Manager.

- Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the project specifications, drawings, and standards.

  1. *Coordination and Supervision:*

- Supervise site activities, including the work of laborers, tradesmen, and subcontractors.

- Coordinate the daily allocation of work and resources, ensuring optimal productivity.

  1. *Quality Assurance:*

- Monitor the quality of work and materials, ensuring compliance with the specified standards.

- Report any discrepancies or quality issues to the Project Manager and take corrective actions as necessary.

  1. *Safety and Compliance:*

- Enforce safety regulations and promote a safe working environment on-site.

- Ensure all site activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

  1. *Resource Management:*

- Manage the delivery and storage of construction materials and equipment on-site.

- Track and record material usage, ensuring efficient use and minimizing waste.

  1. *Reporting and Documentation:*

- Maintain accurate daily records of site activities, including work progress, labor, and materials.

- Prepare and submit reports on site progress and any issues encountered.

  1. *Problem Solving:*

- Address any on-site challenges or issues promptly, in coordination with the Project Manager.

- Provide practical solutions to ensure project continuity and minimize delays.

  1. *Communication:*

- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, team members, and subcontractors.

- Keep all stakeholders informed of work progress, issues, and any necessary changes.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer or similar role in construction.

  • Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and quality standards.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and plans.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

  • Ability to travel to different project sites as needed.
