Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Estimation Engineer based in Noida. The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and project cost estimations for infrastructure and engineering projects. The Costing Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets for
AIS/GIS substations
(132kV, 220kV & 400kV)
, ensuring competitive pricing for tenders and supporting project execution with cost inputs. The role requires a strong technical understanding of electrical systems, BOQ analysis, vendor interactions, and overall project cost control.

Estimation & Costing

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for
  EHV substation projects
  (AIS & GIS).
• Review tender documents, technical specifications, SLDs, layouts, and bill of quantities (BOQ).
• Identify scope of supply and scope of work including civil, electrical, testing & commissioning.
• Estimate material quantities, manpower, and construction resources.

Pricing & Budegeting

• Prepare pricing sheets, cost summaries, and complete bid costing as per client BOQ.
• Build project budgets covering materials, equipment, civil works, and services.
• Analyze labor productivity, resource consumption, and unit rate calculations.

Vendor & Procurement Coordination

• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations for major equipment such as:
• Power Transformers, CT/PT, Circuit Breakers, Isolators
• Control & Protection Panels, Cables, GIS/AIS equipment
• Structures, insulators, protection systems, SCADA
• Perform techno-commercial comparison (TCC) for suppliers.
• Support procurement team during project handover.

Tendering Support

• Prepare technical & commercial deviations.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and coordinate with engineering teams for clarification.
• Assist in proposal preparation and submission.

Cost Control & Optimization

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Analyze previous projects for cost benchmarking.
• Monitor project costing trends and update internal costing sheets.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain costing databases, rate libraries, and vendor costing sheets.
• Prepare management reports for cost variance, pricing justification, and bid summaries.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of
  substation equipment, layouts, and standards (IEC/IS)
  .
• Experience in costing for
  132kV / 220kV / 400kV AIS/GIS substations
  .
• Proficiency in Excel, costing tools, rate analysis, and project estimation software.
• Ability to read SLDs, GA drawings, protection schemes, and cable schedules.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
• Excellent communication for coordination with clients and internal teams.
