Position: Power Electronics Design Engineer
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years open to senior levels

Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Power Electronics Design Engineer to join our
engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in power electronics
design and development, preferably for defense/MIL-STD applications. This role involves
working closely with clients, understanding requirements, designing power systems (AC-DC,
DC-DC), and driving projects from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-end design and development of power electronics systems, including:
AC-DC & DC-DC power supplies
Transformer and magnetics design
System architecture & schematic capture
BOM creation & optimization
PCB layout review & Gerber release
Ensure designs meet EMI/EMC compliance and relevant MIL standards
(preferable).
Perform Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), and thermal analysis during
design stages.
Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and
design for testability (DFT) reviews.
Execute prototype testing, validation, and troubleshooting of power electronics
hardware.
Work on technical documentation, including design history, test reports, and
validation records.
Collaborate with vendors for component selection, sourcing, and technical
clarifications.
Participate in client interactions, including requirement gathering, technical
discussions, and project reviews.
Maintain project schedules and ensure smooth project execution.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Power Electronics (AC-DC, DC-DC, Magnetics, Power
Converters).
Hands-on experience in schematic and PCB design using OrCAD / Altium
Designer (preferable).
Knowledge of EMI/EMC design practices and regulatory compliance.
Understanding of thermal management, SI/PI principles, and reliability
considerations.
Familiarity with transformer/magnetics design and optimization.
Practical knowledge of troubleshooting & validation techniques with lab equipment
(oscilloscopes, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
Experience in DFM, DFA, DFT methodologies.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Ability to independently handle projects and maintain detailed project history.
Experience in defense / MIL-STD compliant designs.
Prior involvement in EMI/EMC certification and testing.
Exposure to railway, automotive, or aerospace power systems.
Hands-on experience with simulation tools (LTspice, PLECS, PSIM,
MATLAB/Simulink).
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors/Masters degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (EEE/ECE) or
related discipline.
Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience (higher experience levels
welcome).
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to interact with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Self-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
