Job Overview

Da Box Chennai is looking for a hardworking and motivated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. As a Commis, you will support senior chefs with daily food preparation, basic cooking tasks, and maintaining hygiene and consistency across all stations. Ideal candidates will be eager to learn, have a strong interest in Asian cuisine, and thrive in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and basic cooking of Pan-Asian dishes (Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Korean) under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Maintain mise en place levels for your assigned station (prep, wok support, cold kitchen, etc.).
• Follow recipes, portioning standards, and presentation guidelines consistently.
• Ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of work areas, tools, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef with daily tasks and section requirements.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing ingredients following FIFO and kitchen protocols.
• Help maintain workflow efficiency to meet cloud-kitchen delivery timelines.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen; experience in Pan-Asian or multi-cuisine environments is a plus.
• Basic understanding of chopping, prepping, and fundamental cooking techniques.
• Ability to follow instructions precisely and work as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a high-volume, delivery-driven kitchen.
• Good time management, discipline, and a positive attitude toward kitchen operations.
• Culinary degree or certification would be preferred.
• Previous experience in a cloud kitchen setup is an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20, ₹25,000.00 per month
