Role Overview

We are seeking a Video Editor Team Lead to head our post-production function. This role involves managing a team of editors, driving creative direction, and producing cinematic, story-driven content that resonates with millions of rural and digital-first audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of video editors to ensure timely and creative project delivery.
  • Oversee the end-to-end video editing process—raw footage, sound, motion graphics, VFX, and final cut.
  • Collaborate with creative, content, and marketing teams on video concepts and execution.
  • Review and approve edits, ensuring brand consistency and high production quality.
  • Manage workflows, timelines, and resources for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Stay updated with the latest editing tools, AI workflows, and creative trends.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and maintain production efficiency.

Core Skills & Expertise

  • Storytelling & Editing: Adobe Premiere Pro, narrative-driven edits, brand storytelling.
  • Motion Graphics & VFX: After Effects (rotoscoping, tracking, compositing).
  • Design Integration: Photoshop, Illustrator for graphics and visual assets.
  • AI Video Tools: Familiarity with Runway, Pika, Topaz, Adobe Firefly, Google Veo.
  • Color & Sound: Professional color grading, sound design, and audio cleanup.
  • Social Media Editing: Optimized video formats/styles for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook.
  • Plugins & 3D: Knowledge of Element 3D and related plugins.

Requirements

  • 7–8+ years of professional video editing experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in a team lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong creative mindset with attention to detail and storytelling flow.
  • Proven expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Portfolio/showreel demonstrating motion-heavy, story-driven projects.
