Staff Engineer

We're looking for a technically exceptional Staff Engineer to lead key architectural and technical initiatives across our platform. This is a senior IC role where you'll guide system design, solve complex engineering challenges, and elevate engineering standards through your own technical depth and leadership.

You'll work closely with Engineering Management and Core Engineering to drive architectural alignment, shared services strategy, and platform-wide technical direction across teams. Your leadership will influence how systems are built, how teams make decisions, and how our platform scales.

This is a full-time, in-office role in our Chennai engineering center, working with a high-performing, AI-native engineering team. You will report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager in Chennai.

• Lead architecture and system design for core platform components and high-impact initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering Management to define technical direction, establish engineering standards, and ensure alignment across teams.
• Architect, build, and ship distributed systems, APIs, and modern web applications through hands-on engineering.
  
• Break down complex technical problems, provide clarity, and help teams navigate difficult trade-offs.
• Mentor engineers in architecture, system design, and best practices, helping elevate technical capabilities across the org.
• Drive excellence in code quality, testing, performance, observability, and operational rigor.
• Collaborate with product and design to translate business needs into scalable, reliable, elegant technical solutions.
• Shape engineering culture by championing simplicity, iteration, and strong engineering fundamentals.

• Proven experience as a Staff Engineer, Tech Lead, or Senior Engineer leading architecture and delivering large-scale systems.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems (C#/.NET, Python, cloud-native, orchestration) or modern frontend architectures (React, , TypeScript).
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives that span multiple teams or product areas.
• Strong system thinking with the ability to dive into code and rise up to architectural abstractions.
• Experience guiding engineers through mentorship, design reviews, and technical leadership.
• Excellent communication skills, especially in explaining architecture, trade-offs, and technical direction.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.

We're looking for candidates with 7+ years of professional engineering experience, including meaningful experience leading technical or architectural initiatives at scale.

• Experience with event-driven systems or microservices.
• Exposure to healthcare, fintech, or other high-reliability domains.
• Experience contributing to or scaling engineering organizations across multiple regions.
