Production Engineer – Product Engineering

Location: Bangalore (In-office)

About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and skilled Production Engineer to join our Product Engineering team in Bangalore. This role is ideal for professionals with a blend of development and support experience, particularly in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of production systems in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the reliability and efficiency of production systems through proactive monitoring and automation.
• Work on SRE initiatives, combining software engineering and systems engineering practices.
• Build and maintain large-scale distributed systems with a focus on performance and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve system design and deployment processes.
• Participate in Production Engineering projects, balancing development and operational responsibilities.
• Handle incident response, root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
• Optimize system performance using tools like Kafka, SQL, and Java-based services.
• Maintain basic UNIX/Linux system administration and scripting tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 2–6 years of experience in Production Engineering, SRE, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Kafka, and SQL.
• Prior experience in financial services or other highly regulated sectors.
• Proven experience in building and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
• Familiarity with SRE principles, including monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
• Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems and shell scripting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation tools.
• Exposure to observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Understanding of compliance and security requirements in regulated environments.
