Business Analyst Motor Insurance

The Business Analyst (BA) will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document requirements related to motor insurance products, processes, and systems. The BA will ensure business needs are translated into functional and technical specifications to deliver effective solutions that enhance customer experience, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirement Gathering & Analysis

  • Collaborate with underwriters, claims, policy administration, and operations teams to understand business needs.

  • Gather, document, and analyze requirements for motor insurance products, policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and claims processes.

  • Conduct gap analysis between current systems and desired business processes.

  • Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact between business teams and technical teams.

  • Conduct workshops, walkthroughs, and presentations with stakeholders to validate requirements and proposed solutions.

  • Manage change requests and ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance standards.

  • Domain Expertise

Apply in-depth knowledge of motor insurance, including underwriting, premium calculation, claims processing, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance.

  • Monitor industry trends and ensure solutions are competitive and compliant with motor insurance regulations.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of motor insurance business processes (policy administration, underwriting, claims, endorsements, renewals, cancellations).
  • Experience with insurance systems/platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, or custom core insurance platforms).
  • Proficiency in requirement elicitation techniques (interviews, workshops, document analysis, process mapping).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills (BRD, FRS, Use Cases, User Stories).
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to motor insurance (e.g., local insurance authority rules, IFRS 17, Solvency II depending on region).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, IT, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 5years in the motor insurance domain.
