How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

As an Officer, EHS, you willdevelopand implementEH&S compliance, EHSimprovement programs and systems for the site. You will participate in EHS program planning & implementation activities and provide recommendations for improvement EHS culture at the site.This role will be based in Verna, Goa

You Will Make an Impact By ensuring the following:

  • Regulatory Compliance: - Ensuingcompliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, adherence to the permits limits and timely renewal and updates of permits and licenses, coordinate with various statutory bodies for obtaining timely approvals and satisfactorily address queries raised by them.
  • EHS Management systems: - Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis and implement controls to prevent recurrence, prepare a training matrix and calendar based on need identification, plan and execute internal audits and inspection and compliance, maintain relevant documents and record, analyze data on injury and illness to establish and trend, prepare and maintain EHS SOPs. Prepare & maintain the updated EHS management system prepare for any time ISO 14 K & ISO 45K Audit, Statutory Audit and Customer Audit.
  • Process Safety: - Develop and implement a systematic program to identify hazardous operations and processes and ensure HAZOP studies, risk assessments & Aspect Impact assessment are conducted, and proper documentation is developed for process transfers, identify control measures to mitigate the risk levels, ensure safe management of flammable and hazardous substances.
  • Fire and Life Safety, Accident Preparedness and Response: - Prepare and periodically update the emergency response plan, conduct mock drills on the probable emergency situations and address the shortcomings, ensure the adequacy, maintenance and update of the fire detection and suppression systems.
  • Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health: - Conduct Industrial Hygiene risk evaluation, arrange for IH monitoring and implement appropriate controls, assess sufficiency of personal protective equipment (PPE), provide and maintain the require PPE; Review the medical surveillance program for completeness.
  • Waste & Scraps Management: - Segregate different wastes & scraps generated at site into proper categories and ensure disposal in accordance with the legal requirement, implement safe waste handling and disposal practices.
  • Environmental Sustainability and emission control: - Implement controls to prevent operational releases to air, water and groundwater, ensure efficient working of ETP in compliance with the legal norms, prevent and control spill by suitable controls such as dikes and secondary containments, execute environment sustainability.
  • General Safety: - Develop programs addressing general safety including contractor's safety program, work permits, guarding and interlocks, safe handling of gas cylinders, electrical safety, Working at elevated height etc.
  • Management of change (MOC) :- Evaluate any major change related to introduction to new product, structure, equipment, process and address the controls required prior to its implementation , maintain the necessary documentation.
  • Maintain effective communication with project managers, supervisors, and employees to promote a collaborative approach to safety. Ensure that all safety issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001& EHS Management system through BSI Entropy system.
  • Business Continuity & Crisis Management system
  • Plan & Implement Safety Culture & Leadership, Ergonomic Improvement, Machine Safeguarding, Warehouse & PIV Safety, Risk & Compliance programs of Safety Excellence Roadmap. Participate in L2 & L3 meetings, as required.
  • Behavioral Observation Process (BOP) Sustenance - facilitate and maintain the records. Conduct & circulate weekly Safety Toolbox Talks. Conduct & coordinate Operation Readiness Review (ORR) of new processes/ equipment.
  • Coordinate EHS Employee Engagement, Promotional Activities, Health & Wellness programs. Coordinate for monthly Safety Committee Meetings. Coordinating ETP, Environmental & Sustainability activities. Inspect and monitor project site activities and ensure compliance with Work Permit System.
  • Facilitate EHS improvement through Kaizen/PIP/ Employees Engagement Activities Facilitate EHS Training program which includes Training need identification, Coordination & delivering of safety trainings.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Technology OR Degree in Physics or Chemistry with minimum 10 years of experience of working in a factory
  • Recognition as a Safety Officer issued by the Chief Inspector of Factories & Boilers, Goa.

  • Have working knowledge of statutory requirements with regards to Inspectorate of Factories & Pollution Control Board.

  • UnderstandHazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
  • Have qualities of a good trainer.
  • Are competent to handle emergencies occurring inside the factory.
  • Have experience in working with software applications such as Entropy, MS Office & Power BI.
