Role Description

We are seeking a seasoned QA Lead to drive the testing strategy, automation framework development, and quality governance across a large-scale modernization program transitioning from monolith to microservices. The QA Lead will oversee end-to-end, integration, regression, contract, performance, and data validation testing across backend services, frontend UI, and enterprise integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Define comprehensive test plans for both interim (coexistence) and target-state architectures.
• Lead end-to-end validation across microservices, UI, APIs, data pipelines, and integrations.
• Create regression testing strategy across legacy monolith + new microservices.
• Drive alignment of QA strategy with architecture, DevOps, and engineering teams.
• Lead API automation using Postman, RestAssured, Playwright API.
• Drive UI automation for React using Playwright/Cypress/Selenium.
• Implement contract testing between microservices to prevent integration breakages.
• Establish validation for data consistency between old vs new services/datastores.
• Design and execute performance tests using JMeter, k6, or equivalent tools.
• Conduct load, stress, spike, and soak tests for services deployed on Kubernetes (AKS).
• Validate performance characteristics of API Gateway, message buses, caching, and distributed components.
• Analyze metrics, identify bottlenecks, and work with DevOps/SRE to tune performance.
• Define QA standards, coding guidelines for automation, and review test automation code.
• Monitor QA progress, defect triage, and reporting across sprints/releases.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, DevOps, SRE, data teams, and business stakeholders.

Skills requirements

• 7+ years of QA experience with at least 3+ years as a QA Lead.
• Strong expertise in API testing & automation using Postman/RestAssured/Playwright.
• Experience with UI automation (Playwright preferred for modern web apps).
• Hands-on experience with performance testing (JMeter, k6).
• Understanding of microservices, API Gateway, event-driven architectures.
• Experience testing distributed apps deployed on Kubernetes.
• Strong SQL/data validation skills for end-to-end verification.
• Knowledge of basic application security and OWASP guidelines.

Preferred skills 

• Experience in healthcare or PHI-sensitive environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub).
• Understanding of Kafka/Service Bus, Redis, or distributed caching is a plus.
• Exposure to contract testing tools ) is desirable.
