Role Overview:

The
Technical Lead – Android
will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality Android solutions. This role is critical in shaping full-stack frameworks that support multi-country, multi-currency, and multi-brand mobile applications. The candidate will drive the adoption of best practices and guide the development team towards successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prototype, design, and develop robust Android applications supporting multi-country, multi-currency, and multi-brand use cases.
  • Translate business needs and high-level specifications into functional mobile application features in collaboration with stakeholders and end users.
  • Mentor and lead junior developers, ensuring adherence to established development standards and coding practices.
  • Champion continuous improvement in coding standards, software quality, and development processes.
  • Lead agile software engineering teams through the full software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with product owners to create long-term technical strategies and product roadmaps.
  • Effectively communicate technical vision and project updates to internal teams and leadership.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including UX/UI design, backend services, architecture, QA, and DevOps for end-to-end product delivery.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum
    6+ years
    of experience in Android application development.
  • At least
    2+ years
    of hands-on experience with
    Kotlin
    .
  • 3+ years
    of experience managing and mentoring teams of
    2+ engineers
    .
  • Strong experience (4+ years) in
    Java
    , with a focus on developing scalable, enterprise-grade mobile applications.
  • Solid understanding and application of
    Agile methodologies
    (Scrum or XP),
    Test-Driven Development (TDD)
    , and
    Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
    .
  • Experience working with
    distributed teams
    (nearshore/offshore).
  • Expertise in
    Object-Oriented Analysis and Design
    ,
    Software Design Patterns
    , and
    Full-Stack Development Principles
    .
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Android architecture components (e.g., MVVM)
  • RESTful APIs
  • Version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Unit testing frameworks
  • Familiarity with modern development frameworks and patterns used in enterprise Android applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
