Position Overview:

The Project Manager MEP will oversee the planning, coordination, design, and execution of mechanical systems across various projects. The role demands strong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, electrical and mechanical design, along with proven project management and leadership skills. The candidate should have at least 10 years of experience managing mechanical works within the MEP, construction, or design consultancy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage MEP mechanical works from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Develop detailed project plans, resource allocations, and execution strategies.
  • Review and monitor design deliverables, material submittals, and technical documentation.
    • Coordinate with electrical, civil, and architectural teams to ensure mechanical systems are integrated effectively.
    • Participate in tendering, bid evaluation, and contractor selection processes.
  • Conduct regular project progress reviews, technical audits, and risk assessments.
  • Provide leadership in mechanical system design – including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, drainage, and mechanical ventilation systems.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure design intent and standards compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, ISHRAE, NBC, local building codes).
    • Optimize designs through value engineering and energy efficiency strategies.
  • Collaborate with consultants and contractors to resolve design and coordination issues.
  • Contribute to BIM coordination and digital project delivery where applicable.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the client, consultants, and internal MEP team.
  • Present technical reports, design reviews, and progress updates to senior management and clients.
  • Manage expectations and maintain positive client relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution (mandatory).
  • 10+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and project management within the MEP / construction / consultancy field.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale commercial, residential, industrial, or institutional projects.
  • Strong background in HVAC design, plumbing, fire-fighting, and other building electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Exposure to both design and site execution environments.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), HAP, Carrier E20, Elite, and MS Project / Primavera.
    • Working knowledge of BIM coordination tools such as Navisworks.
  • Strong grasp of HVAC design principles, fluid mechanics, and energy modeling.
