Senior Hardware Development Engineer

The Senior Hardware Development Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and testing of microcontroller-based electronic products in line with Libratherm's technical specifications and product line standards. This role requires a seasoned professional who can lead hardware design from concept to production, ensuring robust, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Product Design & Development:
- Lead the complete hardware design life cycle, including schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and prototype creation for new products.
- Design and develop microcontroller-based systems (e.g., using PIC, AVR, ARM Cortex-M, or similar) for various industrial and consumer applications.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations (e.g., CE, RoHS), and company quality requirements.
Collaborate closely with firmware, software, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
Testing & Validation:
- Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for hardware validation.
- Perform rigorous testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of electronic circuits and systems using standard lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
Conduct feasibility studies, stress testing, and performance analysis to ensure product reliability and durability.
Documentation & Maintenance:
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, schematics, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and test reports.
- Provide technical support and perform root-cause analysis for hardware-related issues in existing products.
Continuously seek opportunities to optimize existing designs for cost, manufacturability, and performance.
Project Management & Collaboration:
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for hardware-related tasks.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Communicate project status, technical challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the design, development, and testing of microcontroller-based electronic products.Domain Expertise:
- Mandatory:
At least 5 years of experience in designing products specifically for the Libratherm product line or a very similar industry domain. This is a critical requirement. - Proven experience in a product-centric environment, from concept to mass production.
Technical Skills:
- Core Hardware Design:
- Expertise in schematic design and PCB layout using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad).
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, including power supply design (linear/switching regulators).
In-depth knowledge of various microcontroller architectures (e.g., PIC, AVR, ARM) and their peripherals (e.g., ADC, DAC, Timers, PWM).
Embedded Systems & Peripherals:
- Proficiency with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and RS-485.
- Experience with sensor interfacing, signal conditioning, and data acquisition.
Familiarity with firmware development for microcontrollers (C/C++).
Testing & Debugging:
- Expertise in using lab equipment for testing and debugging.
Solid understanding of signal integrity, EMI/EMC principles, and best practices for PCB design.
Documentation & Tools:
- Proficiency in creating and managing technical documentation and BOMs.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
