Job Summary:

We are looking for a Datacenter Infrastructure Engineer to manage and support data center operations, including servers, storage, and network infrastructure. The role involves monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination for smooth and efficient datacenter performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Datacenter Infrastructure Management

  • Manage and maintain physical infrastructure, including servers, storage, network devices, and cooling systems.
  • Perform hardware installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain complete documentation of environment details and infrastructure inventory.
  • Coordinate and provide necessary support for new hardware provisioning within the Data Center.
  • Create and execute maintenance plans for updates, performance stats, and defragmentation.
  • Schedule maintenance jobs and ensure minimal downtime.

2. Server Management

  • Provision, monitor, and maintain servers (physical and virtual) within the data center.
  • Handle server deployment, including setup of new virtual environments.
  • Perform patch management, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of servers (excluding migration activities).
  • Monitor CPU, memory, network, and disk utilization; identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Generate and analyze server performance statistics.
  • Identify harmful growth rates and fragmentation issues and perform performance tuning.

3. Storage Management

  • Manage storage provisioning, data backup, recovery, and archiving.
  • Conduct storage capacity planning and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Manage SAN availability and monitor storage event logs.
  • Process alerts generated by monitoring tools and identify resource bottlenecks.
  • Troubleshoot system alerts and perform root cause analysis using knowledge bases.
  • Oversee network reachability and file system backup/restoration operations.
  • Configure and manage replication in storage systems.
  • Define and update policies in the VMware Horizon environment.
  • Coordinate with OEMs for patching and vulnerability closure.
  • Handle SAN switch zoning and ensure smooth integration of new hosts (in coordination with the Hitachi team).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in Datacenter Operations, Server & Storage Management.
  • Strong knowledge of VMware, SAN/NAS, and Windows/Linux server environments.
  • Experience in capacity planning, backup & recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with SAN zoning, replication management, and VMware Horizon.
  • Good understanding of network reachability, hardware provisioning, and system monitoring tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional and vendor teams (e.g., Hitachi, OEMs).

Preferred Certifications (Optional):

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server / Azure Administrator
  • Hitachi Storage Certification (if applicable)
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
