Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Investment Manager to lead deal execution, financial modeling, and angel relationship management at Pune Angels Network. This role combines analytical rigor with business development excellence, requiring someone who can seamlessly navigate between complex financial modeling and high-touch relationship management with founders and angel investors.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Execution & Financial Analysis
- Lead end-to-end deal execution from initial screening to investment closure
- Develop comprehensive pitch books and investment memorandums for angel presentations
- Create detailed DCF models, comparable company analysis, and valuation frameworks for startups across sectors
- Conduct thorough due diligence including financial, legal, and market analysis
- Structure investment terms and negotiate deal parameters with founders
- Prepare investment committee materials and present recommendations to angels
Angel Network Management & Membership Sales
- Drive membership acquisition by identifying and onboarding qualified angel investors
- Develop and execute membership sales strategy targeting HNIs, successful entrepreneurs, and industry veterans
- Conduct membership presentations and convert prospects into active angel members
- Achieve monthly/quarterly membership targets and revenue goals
- Maintain comprehensive angel database with investment preferences, ticket sizes, and sector focus
Client Relations & Founder Interface
- Serve as primary point of contact for startup founders seeking funding
- Conduct founder meetings, pitches, and follow-up interactions
- Guide founders through pitch preparation and investment readiness assessment
- Manage founder expectations throughout the investment process
- Coordinate post-investment founder-angel relationships
Operations & Network Management
- Organize and manage pitch events, demo days, and networking sessions
- Coordinate angel investor meetings and maintain engagement calendars
- Manage deal pipeline tracking and investor CRM systems
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for deal flow
- Handle administrative coordination between angels, founders, and internal teams
- Prepare regular reports on deal metrics, pipeline status, and network growth
Strategic Initiatives
- Identify market trends and emerging startup sectors for network focus
- Develop partnerships with incubators, accelerators, and other investor networks
- Create thought leadership content for network positioning
- Support portfolio company initiatives and value-addition programs
Required Qualifications
Educational Background
- MBA from Tier-1 institute (IIM/ISB/XLRI preferred) or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, or Economics
- Professional certifications (CFA/FRM) preferred
Experience Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or corporate finance
- Proven track record in financial modeling and valuation techniques
- Experience in startup ecosystem - either as founder, early employee, or investor
- Demonstrated success in B2B sales or business development roles
- Prior experience with angel networks or investor relations preferred
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel modeling and financial analysis capabilities
- Proficiency in PowerPoint for pitch deck creation
- Knowledge of valuation methodologies - DCF, precedent transactions, comparable companies
- Understanding of startup legal structures and investment documentation
- Familiarity with CRM systems and deal tracking platforms

- Number of deals closed per quarter
- Membership sales targets achieved (X lakhs quarterly)
- Deal pipeline quality and conversion rates
- Angel investor satisfaction scores and retention rates
- Revenue generation from membership fees and deal commissions
- Network growth metrics - new angels onboarded monthly
Compensation Package
- Fixed Salary: 3-4 LPA (based on experience)
- Variable Component: Up to 40% of fixed salary based on targets
- Deal Success Bonus: 0.5-1% of deal value for closed investments
- Membership Commission: 15-20% on new membership sales
- ESOP participation in portfolio companies (case-by-case basis)

- Hybrid work model with 3-4 days in Pune office
