Job Description : Network and Security Engineer L2

Location : Bangalore, India

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices, including IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection systems.
  • Implement and maintain network security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement network and security best practices.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and support teams.
  • Document network infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer or Security Engineer.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and VLANs.
  • Hands-on experience with network security technologies such as firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto), VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG) and packet sniffers (Wireshark).
  • Knowledge of security standards and compliance (PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Security+, CISSP) preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
