Position: Asst. Manager - Instrument

Responsibilities:
  1. Instrumentation & Automation Management:

    • Lead installation, commissioning, and maintenance of all plant instrumentation systems.
    • Ensure smooth operation and calibration of control valves, transmitters, flow meters, level gauges, sensors, etc.
    • Supervise PLC/DCS/SCADA-related control system operations and troubleshooting.
  2. Project Planning & Execution:

    • Plan and execute instrumentation projects, including new installations and upgrades.
    • Coordinate with engineering and production teams for timely project completion.
    • Review and approve technical drawings (P&IDs, hook-up drawings, GA, cable schedules).
  3. Preventive Maintenance & Calibration:

    • Drive the preventive maintenance schedule for all instruments.
    • Ensure timely calibration of critical instruments and maintain calibration records.
    • Analyze breakdowns and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  4. Team Leadership & Training:

    • Lead a team of engineers and technicians for daily maintenance and projects.
    • Provide technical guidance and ensure skill development of subordinates.
  5. Inventory & Vendor Management:

    • Monitor spare part consumption and stock levels.
    • Coordinate with purchase and stores for procurement and vendor evaluation.
    • Support cost optimization and import substitution initiatives.
  6. Compliance & Documentation:

    • Ensure all documentation complies with audit, GMP, and safety requirements.
    • Maintain reports on equipment performance, calibration, and modifications.
  7. Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify and implement process optimization opportunities.
    • Support plant automation and reliability improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
  • In-depth expertise in industrial instrumentation and automation systems.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Sound understanding of PLC/DCS/SCADA programming and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and team management skills.
