The Head of Data Risk and Control Management, UK is within the UK Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) function. The UK CDAO function is responsible for data risk and control management, delivering the data platform strategy, delivering data and analytics products and AI for the UK Business.   The Head of Data Risk and Control Management, UK is a key role to enable the Data Strategy for the UK and a part of the UK CDAO leadership team. This role is responsible for ensuring the data risk and control environment of the UK is measurable and within set thresholds. This role is also responsible for the Data Chapter of the organisation and ensuring that the data products delivered are compliant with the data policy. The role may require delivery of data products. This role has expert knowledge of the data policy, data risk and controls and data & analytics products and services that the UK CDAO function provides to value streams and enabler value streams.     In this role, you will:
  • Creating, leading and owning the operating structure and supporting organisation that ensures a joined up strategy, operations and standards UK capability across the Data Controls that Group DAO has Design Ownership for (DUSE, DMOV, DSTO, DPRIV), enabling end to end accountabilitiy for Data Control Effectiveness.
  • Leading a consolidated and coordinated representation of the Data Controls landscape for the UK, with a focus on delivery and cross-Data control dependencies, risks and issues.
  • Leading on delivery and/or in support of Data control related outcomes under the UK Data Strategy. This includes overseeing the implementation of the Data controls across UK in an integrated and efficient manner ensuring appropriate levels of risk management.
  • Managing the demand and delivery of data management products and services to UK.
  • Driving integrated, strategic standards and delivery, improving both efficiency of overall processes as they relate to DUSE, DMOV, DSTO and DPRIV.
  • Forming close relationships with Group DAO and other CDAO areas to provide input and influence Data Controls design, including Data Risk Taxonomy Control Libray uplift and Key Control Indicator definitions.
  • Working with regulatory demands to deliver regulatory outcomes for data policies and controls.
  • Delivery of automated data controls within the UK Data Platform.
  • Become a trusted advisor, manage stakeholder's expectations and working relationships with the team focusing on transparency and collaboration
  To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
  • Awareness of the UK financial landscape and regulations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, cross-functional collaboration, communication, and presentation skills
  • Well versed with excel. Experience with Python and BI tools are an added advantage
  • Advantageous to have Confluence and Jira knowledge
  • Strong stakeholder management / relationship management
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across geographies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent knowledge of data risk and controls with automation experience
  • Experience in a large Global organisation preferably in a Transformation or IT department or shared service organization
  • Experience of working on a regional scale (i.e. across time zone & geography and with remote teams)
