Radiology Typist

Department: Radiology

Reporting To: Radiology Department Head Radiologist

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Radiology Typist with 1-2 years of experience to join our radiology department. The candidate will be responsible for transcribing and typing radiological reports such as X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and other diagnostic imaging reports with high accuracy and speed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transcribe and type radiologists dictated reports including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Mammography.
• Format, proofread, and edit medical reports for accuracy and clarity.
• Ensure timely delivery of reports to patients or respective departments.
• Work closely with radiologists, technicians, and administrative staff.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and reports.
• Input data into hospital software systems (PACS/RIS/HIS) efficiently.
• Follow proper medical and radiological terminology and abbreviations.
• Assist in maintaining records and archiving old reports when needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum HSC or Graduate in any stream.
• Certification in Medical Transcription (preferred but not mandatory).
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role in a hospital or diagnostic center

Skills Required:

Excellent typing speed (at least 40-50 WPM).

• Strong knowledge of medical and radiology terminology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, hospital software, and reporting systems (PACS/RIS/HIS).
• Good command of English grammar and medical language.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Candidate:

• Previous experience in radiology departments.
• Familiar with digital dictation systems and voice-to-text transcription tools.
• Willing to work in rotational shifts (if applicable).
