  • Cloud Cost Governance: Establish, maintain, and evolve a cost governance framework across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), incorporating tagging policies, usage controls, and chargeback mechanisms aligned to engineering workflows.
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Lead detailed usage analysis using cloud-native tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Advisor) and advanced datasets to identify waste, underutilized resources, or cost anomalies. Recommend corrective actions and track results.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Develop precise forecasting models and real time budget tracking that adapt to dynamic engineering demands. Collaborate with the IT teams to align cloud budgets with strategic initiatives and delivery roadmaps.
  • Policy & Compliance: Define and enforce financial policies that are measurable and transparent. Regularly audit cost footprints to ensure compliance and consistency across engineering units.
  • Reporting & Visualization: Create automated dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to surface meaningful insights for leadership. Own periodic reporting cadence for KPIs such as unit economics, efficiency ratios, and budget variance.
  • Strategic Advisory: Advise leadership on cloud cost trends, vendor contract strategies, and emerging FinOps tools. Represent FinOps in architectural governance and engineering council meetings.
  • Vendor Strategy & Commercial Advisory: Support procurement and vendor management with analysis on cloud contracts, cost trends, and third-party hosting scenarios.

Mentorship & Enablement: Coach engineers on cost-aware design principles and help create documentation and training programs to build cloud financial fluency across the organization.
