Neurosurgeon

Role & responsibilities:

Diagnose and treat disorders of the brain, spine, and nervous system.

Perform surgical and non-surgical procedures to manage neurological conditions.

Provide consultation and collaborate with other specialists (neurologists, oncologists, orthopedic surgeons, radiologists, etc.).

Guide patients and families in understanding conditions, treatment options, and recovery.

Lead surgical teams and ensure the highest standards of patient safety and care.

Contribute to research, teaching, and continuous improvement in neurosurgical practices.

Conduct clinical assessments, neurological exams, and review imaging studies (MRI, CT, PET).

Perform surgeries such as tumour excisions, aneurysm repairs, trauma management, and spinal surgeries.

Manage pre-operative and post-operative care, including ICU and rehabilitation support.

Handle emergency cases (head injuries, brain hemorrhages, spinal trauma).

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with medical ethics and hospital policies.

Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to design patient-centred treatment plans.

Stay updated with medical advancements through research, publications, and continuous learning.
