By leveraging the Government's investments in schools and engaging community volunteers, Educate Girls helps identify, enroll, and retain out-of-school girls, and improve foundational skills in literacy and numeracy. The organization also provides a second chance program for girls to complete their secondary education. The goal is to ensure all children have equal opportunities to access quality education, impacting 10 million learners cumulatively by 2035.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Data Science Engineer, located in Mumbai. The Data Science Engineer will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, creating machine learning models, and developing data-driven solutions for educational initiatives. The role involves extracting, cleansing, and transforming raw data, as well as implementing algorithms and statistical models. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights and support data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in data analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling
  • Experience in machine learning, deep learning, and AI algorithms
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or Java
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib
  • Ability to work with large datasets and databases, including SQL and NoSQL
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
  • Previous experience in the non-profit or education sector is a plus
