Role Overview

The PMO Head – Hyperscale Data Center will lead the strategic planning, governance, and execution of large-scale data center development and expansion programs across India. This role involves establishing a robust PMO structure, ensuring consistent delivery standards, managing multi-site program portfolios, and partnering with hyperscale clients (cloud and digital infrastructure providers) to meet aggressive deployment timelines.

The incumbent will act as the single point of accountability for program governance, ensuring that design, construction, and commissioning activities are delivered with precision, quality, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the Program Management Office (PMO) for hyperscale data center projects across multiple regions.
• Define and implement project governance, standards, and reporting frameworks aligned with global delivery best practices.
• Drive the end-to-end lifecycle of data center builds — from design validation, permitting, and procurement to construction and commissioning.
• Manage multi-site program portfolios, ensuring consistency in scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
• Partner with hyperscale clients (e.g., AWS, Google, Microsoft, Meta, etc.) to align delivery schedules, reporting standards, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: design & engineering, construction, operations, safety, compliance, and supply chain.
• Oversee program-level financials — cost forecasting, CAPEX tracking, and change control.
• Manage risk registers, issue logs, and escalation protocols for all active projects.
• Lead executive reporting and steering committee updates with real-time visibility into project health metrics and KPIs.
• Mentor and develop a team of project managers and planners, ensuring capability building and talent succession within the PMO.
• Champion a continuous improvement culture, embedding lessons learned and global best practices into future rollouts.

Required Skills and Experience

• 15–25 years of project/program management experience, with at least 10 years in large-scale data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Proven expertise in delivering hyperscale or colocation data center programs exceeding 10 MW capacity.
• Strong understanding of data center design, power and cooling systems, MEP, network architecture, and commissioning processes.
• Experience in managing multi-site delivery programs and working with global cloud clients.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (Primavera, MS Project, JIRA, etc.).
• Strong background in budgeting, vendor governance, and contract management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to interface with both executive leadership and client partners.
• Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or PRINCE2 preferred.
• Familiarity with Tier III / IV standards, ISO 27001, LEED, or Uptime Institute certifications is an added advantage.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Civil / IT) or equivalent;
• MBA or Master's in Project Management preferred.
