Key responsibilities

  • Customer communication: Explain vehicle problems and recommended repairs clearly to customers.
  • Safety and cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety protocols.
  • Continuous learning: Stay updated on new automotive technologies, tools, and repair techniques.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Technical skills: Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and electronics.
  • Manual dexterity: The ability to work with a variety of tools and perform tasks that require physical strength and hand-eye coordination.
  • Attention to detail: Meticulousness in diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and maintaining records.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and find accurate solutions to complex problems.
  • Education and certification: A high school diploma is standard, but many employers prefer or require certifications from manufacturer-specific training programs or technical schools.
