Software Engineer Senior Analyst

Position Overview

In this role, you will provide hands-on software engineering, migration, operations maintenance for various Cigna enterprise application and tools. You will be working on several of the technical migrations for Evernorth targeted at revolutionizing Health Services and Healthcare Delivery system. Based on enterprise direction, focus of the work is to continue to enhance our infrastructure and technical components up to date with current trends.

Responsibilities

• Aligns engineering solutions with the Technology strategy and supports the application's requirements.
• Plans and implements procedures to maximize engineering and operating efficiency for application integration technologies. Identifies opportunities and drives process improvements.
• Takes accountability for the technology assets owned by the team.
• Provides leadership to the team to achieve the following objectives: Design, configuration, implementation of middleware products and application design/development within the supported technologies and products.
• Proactive monitoring and management design of supported assets assuring performance, availability, security, and capacity.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Planning and Design - Conducting assessments of current Windows, RHEL Server, SQL and Oracle environments to identify dependencies and potential migration challenges.
• Assist in developing migration plans and strategies, including timelines, tools, and procedures.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of the migration process, technical procedures, and troubleshooting steps
• Unit testing the migrated environment to ensure functionality and stability.
• Identifying and resolving issues during the migration process. Providing post-migration support and knowledge sessions, training to end-users.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (e.g., 2016, 2019, 2022) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other related services.
• Experience with Single sign on, OKTA solutions to enable application authentication related services.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP). Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell & Python).
• Experience with migration tools and techniques
• Experience on developing server-side logic, APIs, and databases using languages like .NET Core, , Python, Java, or similar.
• Database Management - Design, implement, manage and migrate databases (SQL, Oracle, Mongo or similar) to store and retrieve data efficiently.
• Exposure to the job scheduling tool like Enterprise Systems Platform (ESP) or Autosys and connect direct or similar tools for managing the file, data transfers and supporting technical scripting skills.
• API Development - Design, develop, and integrate RESTful or similar APIs for communication between front-end and back-end components.
• Testing & Debugging -Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and functionality, and debug issues effectively.
• Performance Optimization - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure a smooth and responsive user experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills.
• Strong time and project management skills.
• Familiarity with agile methodology including SCRUM team leadership.

Required Experience & Education:

• 3.5 + years of experience
• Proven experience working with technical teams with a passion for the developing the talent within the team.
• Experience with an onshore/offshore model.
• Proven experience with architecture, design, and development of large-scale enterprise application solutions.
• College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have skills:

• Exposure to full stack development - Design, develop, and maintain both front-end (client-side) and back-end (server-side) components of web applications or software.
• Exposure to the Front-End Development- Implement user interfaces using technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, .NET, Java or or similar.
• Experience in Software Development through Agile Methodology such as SCRUM.
• Experience/Knowledge of standards, structures and compliance to application standards and methodology
• Experience in multi-platform distributed environment, web-based architectures and Micro services
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and testing process
