A full-time on-site residential electrician is required at the school. Accommodation and food will be provided on campus.

Responsibilities

  • Installation: Install electrical systems, wiring, control systems, lighting, and fixtures according to blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain and repair existing electrical components, including wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and other equipment.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify electrical problems using diagnostic tools and repair or replace faulty parts and equipment.
  • Inspection and Safety: Conduct inspections of electrical systems to ensure proper function and compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Planning: Plan electrical systems and coordinate with other contractors to complete projects on schedule.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of all work performed and materials used.

Skills and qualifications

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Knowledge of electrical theory, materials, and equipment.
  • Experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of electrical codes and safety procedures.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program and passing a licensing exam are often required.
