E&I Head

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Maintenance:

• Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of all electrical and instrumentation systems across the smelter plant.
• Ensure maximum uptime of critical equipment such as substations, switchyards, DCS, PLCs, motors, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, analyzers, field instruments, and automation systems.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned with plant production goals.
• Drive energy management, load balancing, and power factor improvement initiatives.

Project Execution:

• Plan and execute new installations, modifications, and plant expansions related to E&I.
• Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, control philosophy, and ensure proper commissioning.
• Liaise with vendors, contractors, and OEMs for timely completion of projects.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, electrical safety standards, and corporate EHS guidelines.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and ensure LOTO and PTW system adherence.
• Develop and enforce SOPs for safe handling of electrical equipment and instrumentation.

People Management:

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Build capability through training, skill development, and succession planning.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Reliability & Continuous Improvement:

• Implement advanced monitoring systems (SCADA, condition monitoring, predictive analytics).
• Drive automation, digitalization, and reliability initiatives to enhance performance.
• Analyze breakdown trends, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Budget & Cost Control:

• Prepare annual maintenance and capex budget for E&I.
• Control maintenance cost, spares consumption, and ensure optimum inventory management.
• Negotiate with suppliers and contractors for cost-effective solutions.
