About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to lead design, architecture, and technical strategy for enterprise-scale applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in .NET, Java, cloud-native platforms, SaaS architecture, and modernization initiatives. This role demands hands-on architectural leadership, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to guide cross-functional engineering teams toward high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership

• Define and own the technical architecture for enterprise applications built using .NET Core/Framework, Java, and React.
• Architect and implement scalable, maintainable, and secure microservices-based systems.
• Lead modernization initiatives including re-platforming, re-architecture, and migration from legacy monoliths to modern cloud-native stacks.
• Evaluate new technologies, drive PoCs, and recommend best-fit solutions aligned with business needs.

SaaS Platform Design

• Architect and scale multi-tenant SaaS applications, ensuring reliability, performance, availability, and tenant-level isolation.
• Define multi-region deployment, disaster recovery, data partitioning, and usage metering strategies.

Cloud Strategy & Implementation

• Design and optimize cloud architecture on Azure and/or AWS, including serverless, managed services, and container-based deployments.
• Implement best practices around cost optimization, scalability, security, monitoring, and high availability.

DevOps, CI/CD & Automation

• Define DevOps strategy using Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Oversee automated build, test, and deployment pipelines for high-velocity delivery.
• Ensure infrastructure-as-code implementation and automated environment provisioning.

Data Architecture & Engineering

• Design solutions involving SQL/NoSQL databases, data lakes, event streaming, and analytics systems.
• Define data modeling standards, data flow patterns, and integration strategies across distributed systems.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure application and infrastructure security aligned with ISO27001, SOC2, GDPR, and other compliance frameworks.
• Guide teams on secure coding practices, IAM, encryption, and vulnerability management.

Technical Mentorship & Collaboration

• Act as a technical mentor to engineering teams, performing code reviews and architecture reviews.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable designs.
• Lead technical discussions, system design sessions, and engineering roadmap planning.

Technical Skills & Experience

Software Development:

Deep expertise in .NET Core/Framework, Java, and front-end technologies such as React, with strong object-oriented and design pattern knowledge.

SaaS Architecture:

Proven experience designing and scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms, with strong knowledge of tenancy models, distributed coaching, and observability.

Microservices & Modernization:

Strong experience in microservices architecture, API design, event-driven systems, and decomposing monolithic applications.

Cloud Platforms:

Hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS for cloud-native application design, container orchestration, serverless architecture, and managed services.

DevOps & CI/CD:

Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and release automation pipelines.

Data Systems:

Strong understanding of relational (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, CosmosDB) databases, data pipelines, and analytics frameworks.

Security & Compliance:

Experience implementing secure code practices, API security, encryption, IAM, and compliance frameworks such as SOC2, ISO, and data privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10–15 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior architectural or principal-level role.
• Strong ability to lead design discussions, influence engineering decisions, and mentor large development teams.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with domain-driven design (DDD), event sourcing, CQRS.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Bicep/CloudFormation).
• Passion for technology innovation, clean architecture, and engineering excellence.
